Born and raised in Kiev (Ukraine) Elena Prigova graduated from the Department of Journalism of Kiev State University.

Since then and until now, she has been working as a journalist, TV host and producer, at first in Ukraine and since the end of 1990s in the USA. Since 2000, she has been living in New York.
